I own several cookbooks by Beth Hensperger, and love them all, so when I discovered an updated bread machine cookbook, I immediately ordered it. The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook, Newly Expanded and Updated: A Master Baker's 300-Plus Favorite Recipes for Perfect-Every-Time Bread–From Every Kind of Machine is excellent; Hensperger is a master recipe developer, and knows how to write a good cookbook. This one has dozens of excellent recipes that will keep bread machine afficinados baking for at least a year.
The recipes are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-b y-step instructions that are easy enough to follow for novice bread bakers. Hensperger’s imagination is amazing and some of the varieties of bread are genius.
The only drawback to this excellent cookbook is that there are no photographs, which in this modern day, is almost criminal since it is so easy for publishers to add photos. It’s difficult to imagine what your finished product will look like, especially beginning bakers. Besides, photographs make it a lot more fun.
All told, the recipes are very appealing and the cookbook is very well written. There is a huge variety of bread recipes for all occasions and tastes. It will most likely be well-used.
